This book may be good for someone who wants a brief, incomplete references on their fishing rods and collectibles appoximate value. This is not a guide that gives you a lot of information about antique rods, which are worth buying if you intent on fishing them. Some kind of information as to the weight of the flight line should be applied to each rod and the rod that was the original intended use (dry fly, wet fly, bass, trout, saltwater species, large or small etc.). The list of bars shall be very incomplete, especially some of the more popular mass-produced rods. For me this book was a disappointment. However, this may be what you're looking for.

Homel Although the book is useful by giving a general idea of the value of a fishing rod, there are some gaps in the information. First, the material is four or five years of age and collectibles rods prices have skyrocketed during that time. So the dollar amounts placed on the rods are not very realistic. Secondly, I have concluded that there are sizes and models of fly rods, which are not included in the listings of the various creators and producers of the rod. This may be a bit frustrating when one has acquired or intends to buy a rod and you can not find any reference to it in the book.

This book was perfect for Avid collector rod. Photos and details are great and easy to compare them to the bars listed in this book. Highly recommend.

I have 7 antique / vintage fishing rods, and none of them there. In addition, the prices were kept separate from the descriptions, so could not say what was the price.
